Accessing a CodeBox with Low or No Battery

The Secondary (or Backup) Battery Connector

You can use the battery connector at the bottom of the CodeBox in the event the battery inside the CodeBox is low or dead. Push a 9 volt battery into the bottom of the box and use your agent code to gain access.

CAUTION: If you see a "Battery Low" warning during this process, it means that the secondary battery you are using is also low. A secondary battery that causes a "Battery Low" alert could have enough charge to power the display but not enough power to actually open the CodeBox.

Additionally, be aware that pushing the secondary battery in too hard could flatten the battery contacts. If this happens, you will need to straighten-up the contacts of the secondary battery with a needle-nose pliers or obtain a new "secondary" battery.

Be Sure to Verify and Update the Date and Time

A box that has been without a battery for long enough – or with a dead battery – may lose its date and time settings. Before putting such a box back in use, it is critical to confirm the box date and time are correct. Otherwise it will not function for prospect or vendor access.

To verify the date and time on a CodeBox, enter your six digit agent code and press Enter. This screen will display the date and the time of the CodeBox. If necessary, update the date and time of the CodeBox.
