Troubleshoot iCal (.ics) Issues with Third-Party Calendars

ShowMojo supports iCal-based Synchronization to Third-Party Calendars in real time.

We apologize for the following unsatisfying answer, but nearly any issue encountered with iCal calendar integration is going to lie with the calendaring application being used, and not ShowMojo.

Here's some tips we've learned over the years about how you can troubleshoot:

  • Check your sync settings -- how often the calendar application pulls down your iCal feed. Reduce this to the lowest setting you can, which is hopefully every five minutes or less.
  • Adjust your calendar application settings to specify that appointments removed from the iCal feed are also removed from the calendar.
  • If you are already synchronizing your calendar across devices (from your computer to your smartphone) be sure to subscribe to the iCal feed on only one device.
  • Don't modify the showings with your calendar application.
  • For the occasional issue, try restarting you calendar application or device.
