VaultLOCKS eLockbox Error Code Diagnostics

VaultLOCKS eLockboxes will transmit error codes after code entry, which can be useful for identifying the reason an eLockbox will not accept a code. This is a new feature released on the latest firmware, version 9.3.91.

The simplest method to identify if the eLockbox has firmware version 9.3.91 is to conduct a quick test. Enter 6 random numbers on the key pad and press the OPEN button. If the eLockbox follows with one long beep and 3 short beeps, the firmware version is 9.3.91. If the eLockbox responds with a single beep, the firmware version is pre-9.3.91 and, therefore, does not have the error code diagnostics.

The procedure for reading the error code diagnostics is:

  1. Enter an access code via the keypad or Bluetooth and press the OPEN button.
  2. The eLockbox will transmit a series of beeps. The beep sequence is one long beep followed by a number of short beeps.
  3. Count the number of short beeps after the initial, long beep.
  4. The number of short beeps corresponds to the specific error code.

The error codes are listed below, with possible causes:

Beep Count Error Message

1

Successful Open: eLockbox accepted the code and registered an open

2

Bad Access Code Format: User did not enter 6-digits

3

Invalid Access Code For Specific Time: Access code not valid for time period

4

Low Battery Voltage: eLockbox will attempt to open, change batteries as soon as possible

5

Overcurrent: Possible eLockbox jam, use physical key to open eLockbox to check for jam

6
All Other Errors: This error type is when the eLockbox detects a motor position error and it is not clear if the eLockbox opened properly

7

Battery Too Low Too Open: Batteries are dead, eLockbox will not attempt to open
