Invalidate In-Use Access Codes from a MojoLock

As a security measure, each MojoLock comes with a built-in function (a clear code) to invalidate all in-use access codes.

A clear code will invalidate any access code that has been previously used on the MojoLock. Examples of access codes that will be invalidated include:

  • Access codes distributed to residents.
  • Long-term access codes distributed to vendors and staff.

Obtain and Use a Clear Code

A clear code can be generated for any MojoLock from the Digital Access Report.

To be effective, the clear code must be entered physically on the MojoLock keypad within the next 24 hours.

Upon successful entry of the clear code, all in-use access codes will no longer be accepted by the device.

Please note that for the original MojoLock (first generation), the use of a clear code on a given day will also invalidate any one day, multiple day, or multiple month access codes that start on that same day. This is the case regardless of whether the access codes with that same start date were generated before or after the clear code is used.

Limitations

It is important to understand that the clear code only invalidates access codes that have been used at least once on the device.

There is no need to worry about multi-day access codes that may currently be valid but have never been used. This is because all multi-day access codes are automatically invalidated if they are not used within the first 24 hours of their access windows. (See MojoLock Access Codes and Other Access Options ‍for more details on this.)

However, users should be cautious about distributing multi-day access codes with start dates of more than a couple days in the future. The clear code functionality will not invalidate these unused, future access codes.
