What is MojoBox?

MojoBox is a digital lockbox solution specially designed and priced to replace mechanical lockboxes. Our goal is to completely end the residential rental industry's reliance on a single-code point of failure.

The MojoBox:

  • Is built for residential rentals with flexible access code options that support vendor access, staff access, self-showings, short-term rentals, and more.
  • Is deeply integrated with ShowMojo to leverage all the benefits and cost savings that come from Leasing Automation.
  • Can be deployed and used completely independent of the ShowMojo platform, especially for uses outside of leasing.
  • Was engineered with security and reliability as top priorities, even as we targeted the price point of mechanical lockboxes.
  • Has a removable mechanical shackle that makes the MojoBox ideal for both temporary and permanent placement.

Is MojoBox Physically Secure?

MojoBox technology leverages a supply chain with deep experience in US-based deadbolts and smartlocks.

MojoBox is rated to operate in both hot and cold climates and is factory-tested to withstand conditions as cold as -31ºF or as warm as 140ºF.

What Is the Mojobox’s Expected Lifespan?

The MojoBox is designed to last at least five years in reasonable outdoor conditions. In ideal conditions, MojoBox can last much longer than that.

What about Battery Life?

With three alkaline AA batteries, a MojoBox will typically last more than two years under a normal usage scenario.

MojoBox will alert the user when the batteries are running low. The alert is enabled when around 20% of battery life remains. With low batteries, it will continue to attempt to lock and unlock. When in use the battery icon will flash red for four seconds to alert you to the low batteries.

The MojoBox includes a USB Type C port at the right-hand side of the door. When the batteries have run out, just plug in any battery pack to open the MojoBox. (A completely discharged MojoBox may take a few minutes to charge, depending on the USB C charger being used.)

Placement and Water Resistance

MojoBoxes are built with an IP55 rating. The device is very reliable, even when exposed to open rainfall as long as certain conditions are met:

  • Hang or mount the MojoBox upright. (Placing the device on its back, keypad up, in extended period rainfall could lead to water intrusion.)
  • When mounting the MojoBox to a surface, always remove the shackle and insert the waterproof plugs at the top of the MojoBox.
  • Do not leave the MojoBox key compartment open in rainfall. The MojoBox is rate IP55 when closed, not when open. Nonetheless, momentarily accessing and then closing the key compartment in the rain is just fine.
