CodeBox Batteries Running Down Quicker than Expected

Both ShowMojo and CodeBox strongly recommend using Alkaline or Lithium batteries. No matter the age nor model of your CodeBox, lithium batteries should last at least twice as long as Alkaline batteries.

None-the-less, if you believe the batteries on your CodeBoxes are running out too quickly:

  1. Assess how the CodeBoxes are stored. For example, CodeBoxes should not be stored in any way that would cause the keys to be pressed during storage (such as, if CodeBoxes are stored one on top of another). This will run the batteries dry quite quickly. Always store the CodeBoxes in the boxes in which they were shipped.
  2. Assess where the CodeBoxes are stored. For example, in an enclosed and partially heated area as opposed to in a completely unheated environment. (The CodeBoxes will of course operate in this environment, but scientific laws dictate that the batteries will drain more quickly.)
  3. Consider a different battery brand. Discount alkaline and even lithium batteries might not provide sufficient voltage for the intended lifetime of the battery. This is even more important in colder climates. Carbon Zinc batteries are not meant to be used in your Codebox. These batteries are not sustainable in the box.
