The keypad on a VaultLOCKS eLockbox will light upon pressing any key on the keypad. If the keypad does not light, follow these steps to troubleshoot:
- Confirm the eLockbox has charged batteries installed.
- Confirm the batteries are installed correctly.
If all conditions above have been verified and the keypad still does not light, check the keypad flex tail to ensure it has not been pulled out of the connector, as shown below.
Follow the steps below to reinsert the keypad flex tail:
It is recommended that the insertion of the flex tail be performed without removing the internal cover. Removing the batteries IS recommended for improved access to the connector. The photo below shows the connector with the internal cover in place and batteries removed.
For clarity purposes, the photos are shown with the internal cover removed. But, again, removing the internal cover is neither needed nor recommended.
- Locate the flex tail connector.
- Release the connector lock: use a small screwdriver to gently open the connector lock.
- Reinsert the flex tail into the connector: insert the flex tail into the slot on the top of the connector. NOTE: the lock must be in the full open position for the flex tail to be inserted.
- Close the connector lock by depressing the locking bar with a small screwdriver.
- Reinsert the batteries and press any key to verify the keypad illuminates.
- If the keypad still doesn't respond to button presses, it's possible that the keypad itself has malfunctioned. If the VaultLOCKS is within the one-year warranty period you can submit a VaultLOCKS Repair/Replacement Form.
