Fully Automated Identity Decisioning with Precise ID

Overview

ShowMojo's fully automated identity decisioning builds directly upon our Automated Identity Document Verification foundation and removes any need for you and your team to review identity documents provided by prospective renters.

For secure and reliable decisioning, this feature incorporates Experian's Precise ID product. This is the same technology that banks use to verify identities before handing out a credit card or checking account. This feature is included for free in any account that can conduct Driver License and Document Verification‍.

Here are some important details:

  • Only a minority of prospects will need to complete a Precise ID verification. And, specifically, only those prospects who do not pass our automated document verification process.
  • Precise ID does not impact a consumer credit score. It is a soft inquiry on a consumer report.
  • With the number of security layers in place, prospects must either have a driver's license and/or state identity card OR they must be locatable based on a US address. There are some possible edge cases here (such as foreign nationals newly arrived to the US).
  • You can choose to review prospects who fail the Precise ID check. This will be additional work for your team. And most prospects rejected by ShowMojo should be considered fraud.

Setup

First, enable Automated Identity Decisioning (or confirm that it is enabled). You can do this by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Identity Verification section on the Showing Qualification Settings page.
  2. If needed, enable the Automated Identity Document Verification toggle.
  3. If needed, enable the Automated Identity Decisioning toggle.

Then, the settings to configure auto-approve are available on the Showing Qualification Settings page in one of two places.

  1. When document verification is enabled on the listing as part of the self-showing process, this is controlled by a setting in the Identity Verification section.
  2. When document verification has been added as a question to one or more pre-showing        questionnaires, this is controlled by settings in the Pre-Showing Questionnaire section.

Once you've confirmed those settings, you should be all set.
